Welcome to the memorial page for

Jacquelyn E. (Nystrom) Moe

January 31, 1933 ~ May 12, 2017 (age 84) 84 Years Old

Jan. 31, 1933 - May 12, 2017

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Jackie Moe, 84, of North Bend, will be held on  Friday, May 19  at  11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 2238 Pony Creek Road in North Bend, with pastor Eric Lindsey presiding. A private family graveside committal will take place on Friday, May 19 at Ocean View Memory Gardens Cemetery in Coos Bay.

Jackie was born Jan. 31, 1933 in Bend, to Edwin Nystrom and Hazel (Melsness) Nystrom. She passed away peacefully May 12, 2017 at the home of her sister, Lorna, in Bend.

Jackie grew up, graduated from high school and married Ira Moe in Bend in 1952. Once married, they began their life in North Bend, where they raised four children. Together they built many successful businesses in the area and she continued to work at Moe’s Bike Shop / Woolshed until September 2013. People still stop at the bike shop to talk to “Grandma” and she was always happy to sit and visit. She loved her family very much and always enjoyed hearing updates about what her great-grandbabies were up to. She is remembered for her patience and understanding, her love of baking, her ability to find anything, her bargain shopping and her loving spirit that touched so many, including the family of crows that still look for her and the many cats that she made sure weren’t starving. She was truly the definition of what a Grandma should be and will never be forgotten.

Jackie is survived by her son, Ron Moe and his partner, Patsy of Bend; son, Al Moe and his wife, Carol of North Bend; daughter, Diane Steele and her husband, Mike of Coos Bay; son, Bill Moe and his wife, Shelly of Coos Bay; sister, Lorna Giltner of Bend; her beloved seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; as well as nephews and their families.

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Moe; parents, Ed and Hazel Nystrom; and brother-in-law, Bill Giltner.

The family of Jackie Moe wishes to extend our sincere thanks to her sister, Lorna Giltner for caring for her these last few years and to everyone in Bend who visited and lifted her spirits while she was there.

Jackie was easy to love and hard to let go.
