Sharon Lee Iparraguirre (Matthews)

Shari was born on March 17th, 1945 in Concrete, Washington.  She passed away December 8th, 2025 in Coos Bay, Oregon, after a battle with heart disease.  She went peacefully in her sleep.

She was raised primarily in Coos Bay, Oregon.  She is the daughter of Ned & Gloria Matthews. Shari met her husband of 45 years, Julio Iparraguirre, in Los Angeles, California.  She lived most of her life in and around Coos Bay (even after her husband Julio’s passing in 2007).  She was an avid painter, mother, grandmother, and dedicated wife.

Shari’s pride and joy were her four children, seven grand-children, and a number of great grandchildren.  She also loved her pets, including the lone standing pet, Nicholas the Chihuahua.  She was a talented artist (painter), cook, and enjoyed camping and the outdoors.

Shari is survived by her children; Julio Iparraguirre (Coos Bay), Sharon “Nana” Aday (Coos Bay), Julie Iparraguirre (Coos Bay), and Jay Iparraguirre (Grants Pass).  Also surviving Shari are her seven grandchildren; Monika England (Coos Bay), Angelica Shrives, (Missoula, Montana), Adriana Sparks (Coos Bay), Whitney Iparraguirre (Corvallis), Darian Dobbs (Pendergrass, Georgia), Julio “Seth” Iparraguirre (Coos Bay), and Elijah Iparraguirre (Grants Pass).  There are also a number of great grandchildren who were all loved by Shari.

Shari has a number of siblings (all still alive); Ted Matthews, Danny Matthews, Vernon Matthews, Patricia Saulz, David Matthews, Gloria Cancino, Steven Matthews, and Robert Matthews.  Aside from this, there is a wide group of nephews, nieces, and great nephews/nieces who will remember Shari as well.

In lieu of services, the family asks that Shari be remembered in your own meaningful way.  In place of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness in her memory.
