Ronald Frank Kasper

Ronald Frank Kasper was born in Coquille, Oregon on August 4, 1938. His parents were Doris Albertson and Arnold Kasper. He had one sibling, sister, Sister Rosemarie Kasper.  Ron grew up in Coos Bay and Roseburg Oregon where he graduated from Roseburg High School.

He was a journeyman plumber by trade in his early years and on into the 1980s. His passion was to race unlimited hydroplanes. He owned and raced the boat, Miss Sacramento. 

Ron was good looking, smart, funny, witty, a hard worker and a serious businessman. He had a knack for fixing just about anything and yet a soft spot for animals.  Consistently taking care of all of the ones Judy would bring home.  He enjoyed taking road trips, so he could see the country side.  But more so loved having company in the car alongside him, so he could share all his favorite spots and tell you his cherished memories.  Ending every day in his office journaling about his day, adventures, conversations, or progress he made on the farm.   

Ron married Judy on April 14, 1990 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Together, they made their home in Dixon, CA where they lived for many years and harvested sugar beets and grain products.

Ron yearned to move back to and retire in Oregon. In 1996, Ron and Judy moved to Bandon, Oregon where they resided and worked on their cranberry farm together until Judy’s passing in June, 2019. Ron continued on at the farm but he missed Judy terribly.

All could agree that he may have had a quick temper, but he also was the first one to give the shirt off his back when someone was in need at any given moment. Ron loved and had also had a soft spot for his grandkids and great grandkids. He was happy when they came to visit him and Judy on the farm, especially when they came to work the harvest. Ron’s son, Ronnie (& wife Shawna) and his daughter, Cindy spent many years working the harvest with their dad. Following in their footsteps, Ron’s grandsons and families continued to come up each year and they all harvested together.

Everyone knows Ron’s love for farming cranberries. He and Judy poured their hearts and souls into the business. It is the hope of Ron’s family to continue to cultivate his beautiful cranberry farm and continue his legacy. From your family and friends, we love you and pray you are in your glory with Judy, Ronnie & Grandma Doris in heaven.

Ron is survived by his daughter, Cindy Schmidt and husband Jason; step-son, Jim E. and wife Rochelle E. James; sister, Sister Rosemarie Kasper; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and 2 on the way.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 34 years Judy Kasper and son Ronnie Kasper.

Private burial has been held at Sunset Memorial Park, Coos Bay under the direction of Coos Bay Chapel.
