Rita J. Calandrino

A graveside service for Rita Joyce (Barrientos) Calandrino, 94, will be held Monday, June 22, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Park, Coos Bay, with Rev. Deacon Peter A. Broussard  officiating.

Rita was born March 20, 1932 and died June 9, 2026.

She married Paul Calandrino July 8, 1951 in Santa Cruz, CA. They lived in San Jose, CA where they raised four children, then Washington State and in 1992 retired to Bandon, OR where the couple had often vacationed.

She is survived by her children, Sam and Colleen Calandrino, Paul Calandrino, Tia Calen and daughter-in-law, Pam Calandrino; 8 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and a 3rd on the way. And sisters Cookie and Tim Ruschin and Grace Calandrino Disalvo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul in 2010, and her son Tony Calandrino in 2021, as well as her sister Ducky, brother, Mike, and grandson Mike.      

She was known for her smile and unconditional love and led her family with love and strength. In retirement she was an avid gardener, great cook and had lots creative talents in different mediums. She loved to plan family gatherings and activities that leave cherished memories for all.
