Mary Anne Matejka

Mary Anne Matejka, age 71, passed peacefully on May 28, 2026 in Coos Bay, OR.

She was born April 12, 1955 to Jim and Winnie in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She had a remarkable story of survival from birth, primarily as a result of good physicians and total loving support of her parents.  She always kept a sweet disposition and loving ways. 

Mary Anne had a profound impact on her family, friends and acquaintances throughout her life.  Mary Anne was never a burden but was truly a blessing.

In the last several years proper care was increasingly difficult to provide.  We have the utmost thanks, respect and admiration for the numerous caregivers who continued her loving care.

She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her brother and wife, Joe and Joyce Matejka of Coos Bay, OR; niece, Julia and family, Ben, Owen and Miles McMorran of Eugene OR; niece, Michelle and family, Dan, Daisy and Evie Liefwalker of Corvallis, OR.

She always tried her best and she will be missed. “No more snutna!”
