Martha "Marti" J. Kelley Obituary

Martha Jean Franklin (Marti Kelley) was born on March 6th, 1947 in a little house in Kensett, Arkansas, and she returned to God’s presence on August 31st, 2024 in the Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay, Oregon at the age of 77. She was greeted in Heaven by her grandparents, Samuel Marshall and Sarah Elizabeth Hayes Crain, Alva Vernon and Lillie Mae Elliott Franklin; her parents, Earion Pete and Lila Belle Crain Franklin; sister, Linda Franklin Baker, and Brother, Howard Reid Franklin (Faye).

She will be sadly missed by her brother: Gil Franklin; and her sons: Rob Denning (Jennifer), Alex Cato, and her many beloved grandchildren: Sam (Caley), Joe, and Sarah Denning, Justina Parker, Marissa Cato, Destiny Cato (Miguel David), and Jac Cato (Jewel Smith); her great grandchildren: Dorian, Donovan, Lydia and Daxton Denning, Kaiden and Konner Parker, Saraphina Morris, Satira and Lyzah Cato, Dante David; Honorable mentions, Gary Janson, and his daughter, Ava; and a plethora of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, great-grandnephews, and many others that she affectionately included in her family, and among many close friends, who she strived to stay involved with through social media and text messages and calls.

She has a BIG family, and an even bigger heart. She was always forgetting herself in the service of others, and she was an amazing example of loving kindness and forgiveness, while encouraging growth and progression. She loved the Lord and was always striving to become more like Him, despite the challenges she had. She was the best mother, Mimi, Sister, Aunt or friend anyone could ever pray for. She loved music and played the piano and sang when she could. She loved to paint and all things crafty and artsy, and loved sharing her knowledge and passion for creativity with others. She would absolutely want everyone to get along and love, forgive, and serve one another, as Jesus taught
