John Howard Howell

John H. Howell passed away December 6, 2025 in Roseburg, Oregon from a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Wilber, Alabama April 30, 1950. John grew up in Hauser and graduated from North Bend High in 1968 lived in Coquille.

John and Marie lived in the house that they built. John joined the Army in his senior year and reported for duty right after graduation. He served 2 years in Vietnam. He retired from Georgia Pacific in 2014.

John had a love for the outdoors. His favorite things to do was fishing, camping, hunting, gardening and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Marie; children, Jenny McManaway and Jeromy Howell; five grandchildren, Camron, Lukas, Gaberiel, Dalilah and Maddy; brothers, Ralph, Herb and Dwayne Howell; sisters, Susie and Dorothy. Sisters Ann and Cathy preceded John in death. Along with sister Emma more recently.

He will be clearly missed and in our hearts forever. We will see you in Heaven John.

Celebration of Life is scheduled on February 21st on 2:00 at Coos Bay Chapel, 685 Anderson Avenue in Coos Bay.
