John William Freerksen Jr.

 A memorial service for John William Freerksen Jr., 84, of Coos Bay, will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the Family Life Center Church of God of North Bend, 1067 Newmark Street in North Bend, with Pastor Trevor Hefner, officiating.

John was born June 16, 1937 in Iowa City, Iowa to John William and Sadie I. (Bebout) Freerksen. He passed away November 26, 2021 in Springfield.

John and his wife, Eva were just short of their 65th wedding anniversary, which they were looking forward to celebrating on August 25, 2021. Eva passed away April 3, 2021.

John was the ultimate family man. He always made sure to hold multiple jobs to provide for his family. John worked as a school bus driver in the 1960s, retired from two lumber mills, plus a volunteer job as a driver for the state.

Family, friends and all those who had the pleasure of knowing John, will miss his sense of humor, love and care for others.

John is survived by his six children, John, Janet, Jerry, Julie, Jeff and Josh; alongside his sons and daughters in love; numerous grand and great-grandchildren; he also loved his siblings’ children and grandchildren; as well as his many cousins.

He was greeted in Heaven by his beloved wife, Eva; parents, John William and Sadie Freerksen; and siblings, Dale, Jane, Dean and Joan, plus all the family and loved ones waiting for him at the gate.
