Jessie L. Pickett Obituary

A memorial service for Jessie L. Pickett, 82, of North Bend, will be held at 11 am, Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the Harbor Assembly of God, 2050 Lincoln Street in North Bend with her son, Gary Pickett, officiating.

Jessie was born into a huge family July 12, 1939 in Arvada, Colorado to Daniel Albert and Jessie Dee (Greenfield) Jennings. She passed away June 4, 2022 in Aumsville, Oregon.

Jessie married the love of her life, Gilbert Charles Pickett, December 5, 1959 in San Pedro, California. Together, they made their life in North Bend, Oregon with their two sons, Gilbert “Bud” and Gary.

She had a few jobs through the years that she always spoke fondly of, starting at Fort
MacArthur, the telephone company as an operator, reception at Dammasch Hospital, Avon and the state of Oregon. She made many friends along the way.
She was born into a huge family, one of 15 altogether. Jessie was known as a great servant of her Heavenly Father. Involved in CAs as a teen, and through the years heavily involved in Women’s Ministries, the nursery, choir, prayer team, pretty
much anytime the doors were open, Jessie was there.

Jessie was head over heels in love with her sons and grandchildren, at her retirement party from the state that was noted by her coworkers in a skit that was put on in her honor. She made many memorable trips with all of her grands, always packing plenty of snacks for all the events. Stay overs at Mama Jessie and Papa Gil’s usually always included a huge variety of snacks and fun.

Jessie is survived by her brothers, Orval, Dann and Gary; sisters, Twila and Vicki; sons, Gilbert C “Bud” and wife, Peggy, Gary T and Sheryl; grands, Julie and Randy, Andy and Enjoli, Thomas, Michele, Jake and Paloma, Brandy, Chase and Dodi, Brady and Hayden; as well as several great grands, all of who she loved greatly.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Daniel, George and Royce; sisters, Helen, Dody, Lou, Ruth, Carol and baby sister; and her loving husband of almost 54 years, Gil.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons.

Arrangements are under the care of Coos Bay Chapel, 541-267-3131. Family and friends are invited to sign the online guestbook at www.coosbayareafunerals.com
