Jack Sensenbach Obituary

A memorial service for Jack Sensenbach, 83, of Coos Bay, Oregon will be held on August 16, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Shoreline Community Church in North Bend, Oregon with Pastor Mike Barnard officiating

Jack was born July 13th, 1941 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Melvin and Winifred Sensenbach, and passed from this life to the next on July 6th, 2025 just one week before his 84th birthday. He and his beloved Debbie had celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary on April 30th, 2025.

Having been estranged from his own family, he reconnected with them after more than 50 years.  He had grown especially fond of his brother Fred Sensenbach and his nephew Jack Wood, and spent long hours catching up with them on the telephone.  He was predeceased in death by his parents, brother Bill and sister Audrey; sisters Dorothy and Rose survive him.

Jack is survived by wife, Debbie, son David and wife Kimberly, and in-laws that he loved and considered his own family: Dennis and Catherine Christian of Davenport, Washington, Susan Righter of Santa Barbara, California and James and Deana Easterwood of El Dorado, California.  David and Kimberly blessed Jack and Debbie with 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, and in November of 2024, they left their own children and grandchildren in Redding and closed their business, in order to move to Coos Bay to help Debbie with Jack's care, a tribute to the loyalty and love the family shared.

When Jack made a friend, they were a friend for life, many of them for decades.  He was especially fond of Ralph Stewart, Bob Morrow, Hank Pescio, and the gang that met for breakfast every Tuesday morning as long as Jack's health allowed. When his health was better, he was an avid golfer, and he loved his "special kitties", Charlotte and Grace; both would race to be the first to ride with him on the seat of his walker as they strolled around the house together.   Anything sugary was his favorite food, many of the pictures of him were of him oohing and aahing over a dessert placed in front of him. He and Debbie traveled many parts of the world and the United States, but most important to him was the home he remodeled for he and Debbie overlooking the ocean at Bastendorff Beach.  Jack called the beach his final resting place, as he and Debbie's ashes will be scattered together on the waters beyond the beach when she goes to be with "her guy".

All that knew him will remember Jack as a loving family man, quiet and soft spoken who would never say a mean word to or about anyone. He deeply loved and was devoted to Debbie and David, and always put them first in his life. Jack was also a man of deep faith and loved his Lord which gave him great peace even in death, he was not afraid to die

The family would like to thank Davita dialysis staff Paula and Kendra; Dr. Jaini and the ICU and IMCU staff of Bay Area Hospital, Chris Karcher from Coos Bay Chapel, Pastor Mike Barnard and Shoreline Church for their compassion and care during and after Jack's life.
