Diane Sue Irvin

A combined memorial service for Diane Sue Irvin, 65, and her mother, Dorothy Irvin, 93, of Coos Bay, will be held at 10 am, Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 400 Highland Avenue in Coos Bay, with Reverend Patti Hale, officiating. Private inurnment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Coos Bay.

Diane was born December 25, 1957 in North Bend to Hugh and Dorothy (Kruse) Irvin. She passed away October 16, 2023 in Coos Bay.

Diane grew up in Coos Bay, graduating from Marshfield High School, class of 1976. She was a talented and gifted person and showed signs of her gifts at an early age. Diane graduated from Oregon State University in 1984 with a degree in Fine Arts. She was an accomplished artist and created many works of art and writing as a legacy.

Diane was a very loving and caring person. She loved all animals and especially her beloved cats. Diane moved back to the family home and owned and edited a local entertainment magazine on the Southern Oregon Coast called “The Whole Shebang”

She later cared for her mother and father. Her father, Hugh preceded her in death in 1998 and then she cared for her mother until her passing in 2021. Diane had close friends who regularly visited her in Coos Bay, for which the family is eternally grateful.

Diane is survived by her only brother, Roger (Tammy) Irvin of Grand Junction, Colorado; niece, Taryn Irvin of Grand Junction; aunt, Marian Gazeley of Corvallis; and cousins, Bill Gazeley, Dave Gazeley, Steve Gazeley, John Kruse, Kevin Kruse and Gary Engelbrecht.

Memorial contributions in Diane’s name may be made to the Marshfield High School art department or Emmanuel Episcopal Church.
