Bruce Allen Burbee, born on July 12, 1954, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 29, 2025. He was a loving father, brother, and cherished friend to many, leaving a profound impact on all who were fortunate enough to know him. Just days before his passing, Bruce received remarkable news that he had triumphed over cancer for the third time. Despite facing ongoing health challenges, he showed unwavering determination, confronting each day with resolute spirit and optimism. Bruce’s remarkable life was largely spent on the water. As a commercial fisherman, he embraced the rhythms of the ocean aboard his beloved vessel, “Rainbow”. His passion for the sea and his work defined much of his life and character. A man of resilience, even as he battled illness, Bruce continued to make plans for the future, never losing hope or spirit.
Bruce is survived by his two daughters, Haley Burbee and Cassaundra Burbee; his brother Matt Burbee; and his sister, Valerie Durant. He is also remembered fondly by his stepchildren; Sarah, Richard, and Leon Luck, as well as Sadie Simones and Chelsey Woods.
Bruce Allen Burbee leaves behind a legacy of resilience, love, and courage that will continue to inspire all who knew him. When you look into the ocean, remember him for all he was. Gone but never forgotten.
