Billie "Marie" Welch

Billie "Marie" Welch, age 78, passed away peacefully February 22, 2026 in Coos Bay, Oregon. Born August 3, 1947 in Hood River, Oregon she brought joy and light to those around her throughout her lifetime. 

Marie had a deep love for music and dancing that was evident to all who knew her. She found immense happiness in playing acoustic guitar, singing and karaoke, often sharing her vibrant voice with friends and family. Her passion for creativity extended to jewelry making, and various craftsmanship, where she crafted beautiful pieces that reflected her artistic spirit.

Marie is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Billie Gannon and her husband, Greg Gannon; her granddaughters, Bryann Cordell (Christopher Cordell), Krystal Little (Bryan Little), and Jodonn Cordell (Lucas Cordell); as well as five cherished great-grandchildren and her sibling, Sherman Welch. 

She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jo Welch; her parents, Sherman Welch, and Mary Mae Weeks (Davis); and her forever soulmate and cherished love, Gussie Glen Lackey. 

Marie's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. May the joy she brought through music, dance, and creativity continue to inspire all who knew her.
