August “Gus” C. Baronti

February 25, 1919 – March 22, 2026

August C. Baronti, DVM, was born on February 25, 1919 in Eureka, California. He passed away on March 22, 2026 in Coos Bay at 107 years old.

Gus graduated from the community college in Eureka and then continued his education at Texas A&M where he received his Veterinary Medical Degree. He had his veterinary practice in Eugene, Oregon from 1942 until 1976.

Gus married Joan ( Marcum ) on September 15, 1966. She worked with him until they retired and moved to Winchester Bay on the Southern Oregon Coast. They both enjoyed fishing and traveling in their motor home. In 2013 they moved to North Bend. They spent their winters in Arizona where they both were involved with a men’s and women’s billiard group. Gus enjoyed playing pool with his buddies, and he was very good.

Gus is survived by his wife, Joan; four children and five grandchildren.

Gus was preceded in death by a son.

A private entombment was held at Sunset Memorial Park in Eureka, California.
