A graveside service for Tracie Ann Palmer, 38, of Coos Bay, will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 7 at the Masonic Cemetery in Coquille, across from the high school. A gathering will follow at the Coquille Community Center, 105 N. Birch St. in Coquille. Private cremation rites were held at Ocean View Memory Gardens in Coos Bay.

Tracie was born June 29, 1979 in Coos Bay. She passed away peacefully in her sleep Dec. 12, 2017 in Coos Bay.

She lived in Coos Bay for the last 10 years. Prior to that, Tracie lived in Salem for 22 years. She graduated from the Mt. Angell Job Corps and worked at ESD with special need kids. After that, she went to work independently, also with special need kids, and in addition, she also had some special need cats.

Tracie was an amazing “friend-mentor” to special need kids and animals. She truly had a special gift for them. Her whole life, she always brought home stray animals and kids. She had a very positive effect on people and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her father, Jack Palmer from Coos Bay; and three brothers, David Palmer and Kurt Palmer, both from Salem, and Jack Jr. from Sacramento, Calif.
