Susie Merritt

A memorial Mass for Susie Merritt, 92, of Coos Bay, will be held at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 26 at St. Monica Catholic Church, 357 S. 6th St. in Coos Bay, with Father Rufo officiating. A public visitation will precede the Mass from 2 to 5 p.m., at Coos Bay Chapel, 685 Anderson Ave. in Coos Bay. Cremation will be held at Ocean View Memory Gardens in Coos Bay.

Susie was born Aug. 23, 1925 in Lincoln, Kansas, to Jose Thomas and Luisita (Torres) Aragon. She passed away June 22, 2018 in Myrtle Point.

Susie was a devoted Catholic who loved her family and will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.

She is survived by her five children, Edward Strickfaden of Pacifica, Calif., Lee Merritt of Lakeside, Viola Merritt of Crescent City, Calif., Sue Armstrong of Coos Bay, and Patricia Pagh of Coos Bay; two sisters and one brother; as well as 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
