A chapel funeral service for Mary Lou Brawley, 87, of Coos Bay, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Oct. 16 at Coos Bay Chapel, 685 Anderson Avenue in Coos Bay, with pastor Don Berney of New Beginnings Christian Fellowship, officiating.  Private interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Coos Bay.

Mary was born Jan. 27, 1930 in Patterson, Mo. to Robert and Florence Moore.  She passed away Oct. 10, 2017 at Life Care Center in Coos Bay, from age related problems.

Mary married David Brawley, July 12, 1945 in Patterson, Mo.  They moved to the Bay Area in 1947, and lived here, except for a few years in the 1960s.  She was an accomplished quilter and made many beautiful quilts, that were appreciated by anyone fortunate enough to be given one.

Mary was a born-again believer in Jesus Christ and a longtime member of the Skyline Baptist Church in North Bend.  She was a wonderful wife, mother of four, and homemaker.

During the last few years of her life, Mary resided at Life Care Center in Coos Bay, where she was appreciated for her beautiful smile and sweet demeanor.

Mary’s family is very grateful to the Life Care staff, who took good care of her while she resided there.

She is survived by her daughter, Peggy and Terry Mahler of Lakeside; son, Randy and Wanda Brawley of Coos Bay; daughter-in-law, Deanna Brawley of Centralia, Wash.; grandchildren, April, Stan, Rick, Melissa, Jacob, Kevin, Nick, Randy, Rob and Cory; 19 great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Florence Moore; husband, David Brawley; sons, Roger and Stan Brawley; three brothers and two sisters.
