Went to school with Lonnie he was always quiet. Had contact with Lonnie & Sheri in later years, they helped me sell my homes in Charleston.
Lonnie was a friend you could count on and will be missed by many.
Our blessings to his family and especially Sheri.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Lonnie. He was a kind, soft spoken sole. Knew him since we were little as neighbors. He will be missed.

The world will be a lesser place without Lonnie Van Elsberg in it. He was a kind, helpful, thoughtful and wise man, someone you could easily look up to and be glad to call your friend. Taken from us too soon, he will nevertheless live on in the hearts of those who had the pleasure to know him. We will miss him greatly.

Lonnie was such a gentle and calm person; will always treasure the times I spent with he and Sheri; Lonnie taught me the history of Coos Bay; if I had questions, he knew the answers !! He never met a dog he didn't like and vice versa; know my little Shadow will miss him......I'm honored to say that Lonnie was my friend........

Only knew him for 20 years but had morning coffee with him for 14 or so. I readily came to honor his friendship and admire him for his intelligence and quiet ways.
All this because we casually walked into an open house he was sitting on way back when.
