Lassie Dog has a sad story. He was found in the street early one morning by Tom Boynton on his walk with Mr. Heinz. He was emaciated and had a broken leg as if he had been hit by a car and was hiding until he finally asked for help. Tom carried him home with Mr. Heinz following on leash. Although in pain, he did not whine or bite and was grateful to be held. At home, he got food and water and then a trip to Hanson-Meekins Veterinary where it was determined because of his age and condition, would not make it. Although he only had one morning with Tom and Mr. Heinz, he was loved and his urn is with Mr. Heinz in Tom's office and will wait to be with them when Tom passes.
