At her request, no public services will be held for Judith Ann Claiborne, 77, of Coos Bay.  Private cremation rites were held at Ocean View Memory Gardens in Coos Bay.  A private family graveside will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Coos Bay.

Judith was born Dec. 27, 1939 in Havre, Mont. to Miles Baker and Nora Kennedy.  She passed away Sept. 25, 2017 at her residence in Coos Bay.

Judith graduated from Coquille High School in 1958.  Just a few years later, she married Neal R. “Nick” Claiborne Febr. 18, 1961.  For over 30 years, Judith worked as a secretary for the Coos Bay District D -9.

Some of her favorite things were: camping, hunting and gardening.  She will be dearly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Judith is survived by her husband of 56 years, Neal “Nick” Claiborne; daughter, Nicole “Niki” Claiborne; son, Brett Claiborne, all of Coos Bay; sister, Kathleen and husband, Steve Bone of Coquille; and grandchildren, Timothy, Bradley, Ashley and Gabrielle.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Thomas Jordan and son, Derek Neal Claiborne.
