A memorial service for Joanne Louise (Campen) Ferber, 78, of Coos Bay will be held at a later date.

Joanne was born at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton, Wash., Dec. 24, 1938, the daughter of Lewis W. Campen and Josephine W. (Lawrence) Roby.  She passed away Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, at Bay Pointe Retirement Community, in Bremerton, after a diagnosis of cancer on Aug. 12, 2017.

Joanne grew up in Gig Harbor, Wash.  She graduated from Peninsula High in 1957.  After moving to Coos Bay in 1971, Joanne stayed busy raising her children and working in seafood stores for many years in both Charleston and Bandon, and then as a manager at Second Street Gallery in Bandon.

She was an accomplished artist and enjoyed painting in oils.  She loved to quilt and made many beautiful quilts even being featured in Great American Quilts 1997.  She also loved to garden, can fruit and vegetables, and bake wonderful bread that she often shared at her church potlucks. She loved her kitty, Romer.

Joanne is survived by her sons, Kenneth R. Shadbolt, Bill L. Shadbolt and daughter-in-law Pam; daughter, Michelle L. Shadbolt; grand-daughters, Tiffany and Jacquelynn; son, Lee J. Shadbolt and daughter-in-law, Tamara; her brother, Carl H. Campen and Linda; half-sister, Rita C. (Campen) Rudder and John; half-brother, Joseph L. Campen and Laurie; as well as beloved step-children, and many cherished nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Mark K. Stewart.
