Ivan "Buck" Sharp Jr.

A memorial service for Ivan “Buck” Sharp Jr., 69, of Coos Bay, will be held at 2pm, Saturday, March 24 at Lighthouse Temple, 91529 Oleson Lane in Coos Bay, with pastor Ivan L. Sharp Sr., officiating. Cremation rites were held at Ocean View Memory Gardens, with a private inurnment to be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Coos Bay at a later date.

Ivan was born June 19, 1948 in Clovis, Calif. to Ivan Lee and Helen (Brady) Sharp. He passed away February 28, 2018 in Coos Bay.

Ivan was known and respected by many as “Buck”, and often referred to himself as “The Pygmy carpet layer”.

He loved life and lived it the way he wanted. He enjoyed going fishing and hunting, as often as possible, and always tried to help people in whatever way he could.

Buck will be remembered as a loving dad and husband, and will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Diana Sharp of Coos Bay; daughter, Brook Harmon of Coos Bay; step-daughters, Twyla McCall of Eugene, and Jackie Lord of Missouri; half-siblings, Sharon and husband, Doug Howell of Coos Bay, Faith and husband, Carl Cooksey of Coos Bay, Rena King and Sandy King of Fresno, Calif.; several nieces, nephews, cousins and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Helen, and step-mom, Mary Sharp.
