A memorial Mass for Maria Hermila De La Cruz, 83, of North Bend will be held at noon, Friday, July 14 at Saint Monica Catholic Church, 357 S. Sixth St., in Coos Bay with Father Wolf officiating. A reception will follow the service. Private cremation rites will be held at Ocean View Memory Gardens in Coos Bay.

Hermila was born May 23, 1934 in La Ciudad General Terán to Eugenio and Maria Olivo. She passed away July 10, 2017 in Coos Bay.

Hermila lived in Texas and Arizona prior to moving to North Bend in 1963. She married Isabel De La Cruz in 1968 and they recently celebrated their 49th anniversary, May 23.

She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary Aerie No. 538 for 43 years.

Hermila enjoyed music and traveling. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Isabel De La Cruz of North Bend; daughters, Alicia Salazar Kuncz  and husband, Tim Kuncz of San Diego, Calif., and Kristina De La Cruz of Coos Bay; granddaughters, Celestina and Adina Kuncz of San Diego, Calif., and Carmen Kuncz of Seattle, Wash.; and grandsons, Rylyn Dodd, Kcy and Austyn Tavernier, all of Coos Bay.

She was preceded in death by her son, Raul Salazar.
