Edwin Lloyd Bell, Jr., of Coos Bay, Ore. passed away at home on Jan. 1, 2018 at the age of 61.

Edwin, or "Eddie" as he was known by friends, was born in Leonardo, New Jersey on Jan. 10, 1956.  As the eldest of five in an Air Force family, Eddie attended nine different schools in the United States and Europe before settling in Coos Bay in 1977, where he found his permanent home at last.  For the next 31 years he loved working as a truck driver in the timber industry.  Nothing made him feel more at peace than watching the sunrise from his log truck, accompanied by his ever faithful and loyal Chihuahua, Tyson.

Eddie was known as a cunning pool shark and fierce poker and cribbage player.  He loved all sports, especially NASCAR, and it brought him great pleasure to play a round of golf with his father, brothers and son.  He was admired by all who met him for his passion to live life to the fullest and to always be himself.  He has left a void in the hearts of all those who had the opportunity to know and love him.

He is survived by his four children, Holly, Angie, Michael and Whitney; his six grandchildren: Jordan, Abby, T.J., Evan, Alden and Kayden; his father, Edwin Bell; his two brothers, Daniel Bell and Robert Bell; and his two sisters, Patricia Stein and Beverly White.  His family is comforted that Eddie will be welcomed home by his beautiful mother, Mary Jean Bell.

Following a private funeral service, a reception will be held for family and friends at the North Bend Public Library (1800 Sherman Avenue North Bend, Ore.) at 4 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018.

Private cremation rites were held at Ocean View Memory Gardens Crematory under the direction of Myrtle Grove Funeral Service-Bay Area, 541-269-285.
