Delbert L. Cahill

A memorial service for Delbert LeRoy Cahill, 88, of Coos Bay, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 7 at Sumner Community Church, 95099 Stevens Lane in Coos Bay, with pastor Andy Taylor, officiating. A potluck will follow the service. Private cremation rites were held at Ocean View Memory Gardens in Coos Bay.

Delbert was born March 6, 1929 in San Jose, Calif., to Kinsey and Nellie (Pack) Cahill. He passed away Feb. 27, 2018 in Coos Bay.

Delbert proudly served in the United States Navy. He lived in Oregon throughout his lifetime with his wife, Katie Cahill and worked as an auto body repairman. He was also known to be a great square dancer.

Delbert loved his church and his family and will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Katie Cahill of Coos Bay; children, Joyce Chambers of Livermore, Calif., Craig Cahill of the Philippines, Tina Paxton of Bend, Sheryl Walts of Fremont, Calif., and Lisa Martin of Fremont, Calif.; stepchildren, Renee Barton of Herlong, Calif., and Rodney Rodrigues of Augusta, Ga.; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Cahill; and stepchild, Debra Higgins.
