William “Bill” George Sigloh

A memorial service to celebrate the life of William “Bill” G. Sigloh, 82, of Coos Bay, will be held on Saturday, October 28th at 11:30 a.m. at Greenacres Community Church, 93512 Greenacres Lane in Coos Bay, with Pastor Tom Stroud presiding. Private cremation rites were held at Ocean View Memory Gardens in Coos Bay. Inurnment with military honors will be held on Friday, November 24th at 1:30 p.m. at Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 SE Mt. Scott Boulevard in Portland.

Bill was born on November 16, 1934 in Three Rivers, California to Royce F. Sigloh and Vera ( McGillivray ) Sigloh. He passed away peacefully on October 9, 2017 in Coos Bay.

Bill and his family made the move from California to Woodburn, Oregon in 1938. He joined the Marine Corps after high school, then got a diesel mechanic degree at Oregon Technical Institute in Klamath Falls, where he earned Phi Beta Kappa status. He worked for Pape’ Brothers Caterpillar dealership in Coquille, then Coos Bay from 1962 until he retired in 2001. Bill married Maxine Yvone Johnson on February 8, 1964 in Salem, Oregon. They made their home in Coquille, then Coos Bay.

Bill was a beloved member of Greenacres Community Church for many years. He enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, visiting, fishing and reading.

Bill is survived by his wife, Maxine Sigloh, of Coos Bay, OR; son, David Sigloh and his wife Tanya of Allegany, OR; daughter, Denise Porter and her husband Don of Long Creek, OR; son, Devin Sigloh and his wife Laura of Portland, OR; grandchildren, Lena and Alexander Sigloh, both of Portland, OR; brother, Bruce Sigloh of Dallas, OR; sister, Karen Sigloh of Portland, OR; brother, Robert Sigloh of Woodburn, OR; brother, Rockey Sigloh and his wife Ritta Dreier of Eugene, OR; Aunt Jessie Ahrens of Bellingham, WA; Aunt Francis Lindberg of Stanley, ND; Aunt Dolly Lindberg of Blaisdell, ND; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Royce and Vera Sigloh; and granddaughter Emily Olgarose Sigloh.
