Norma “Jo” Cobb

July 3, 1936 – February 10, 2018

A celebration of life service and potluck will be held for Norma “Jo” Cobb, 81, of North Bend, formerly of Grants Pass, on Saturday, February 17th at 1:00 p.m. at the Recreational Hall located at 1465 10th Street in Grants Pass. Private cremation Rites were held at Ocean View Memory Gardens in Coos Bay.

Jo was born on July 3, 1936 in Bixby, Oklahoma to Ellis R. Haikey and Nettie T. ( Finnagan ) Haikey. She passed away peacefully at her home in North Bend on February 10, 2018.

Jo graduated from high school in Bixby, Oklahoma where she was active in many school sports. She married William D. Cobb in 1955 and they raised three children. They lived in Norco, California before moving to Oregon in 1980. Jo owned and operated a hair salon called “Silver Scissors” for 20 years in Grants Pass. She then worked at Cinderella beauty salon and Oaklane Retirement Center hair salon in Grants Pass. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Grants Pass. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, picnics and spending time with her family and friends. Her children and grandchildren were the loves of her life. She moved to North Bend in 2013 to be near her daughter and granddaughter.

Jo is survived by daughter, Nettie T. Cobb of Grants Pass; daughter, Kathy Jo Cooper of North Bend; grandchildren, Kashawn Cooper of Salem, Ardie Garlick of Grants Pass and William D. Cobb III of California; great-grandchildren, Stormie Powers of North Bend, Sonny and Skyler Powers of Grants Pass, Wilee Hoffman of Grants Pass and Infinidee Mitchon of Grants Pass; great-great grandson, Rowdey Ray Powers of North Bend; brother, Jack Haikey of North Bend; brother-in-law, Wayne C. Kloth of Grants Pass; nieces and nephews, Paula Jo Lewis of Grants Pass, Liz Bernburg of California, Mitchell W. Kloth of California, Anna Marie and family, Linda Kay Chandlor and family and DuWayne Haikey of Oklahoma; special friends, Pastor Milton Hayes and his wife Peggy of Grants Pass, Geneva Miller of Grants Pass, Sally Crisel of Grants Pass and many extended family and friends.

Jo was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Cobb Sr. in 2014; and her son, William “Nub” Cobb Jr.
