At her request, no public services will be held for Mildred Rose Gulseth, 101, of North Bend.  Private cremation rites were held at Ocean View Memory Gardens in Coos Bay.

Mildred was born Oct. 5, 1916 in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Rufus and Mary Matney.  She passed away Oct. 8, 2017 in North Bend.

Rose was a longtime resident of Coos County, moving here shortly after birth.  She graduated from Coquille High School in 1934.

On Sept. 9, 1941, at the beginning of WWII, Rose married Cliff Gulseth.  She gave birth to their son, Paul Clifford in 1943. Rose and her husband, Clifford purchased Courtesy Pontiac in 1960 and ran it until retirement.

She was an avid golfer, being awarded club championships several times.  Rose also loved to dance and have fun!

The family would like to thank Inland Point Retirement Community in North Bend, where she resided, for their fabulous service.

Rose is survived by her son, Paul and wife, Twana Gulseth of Coos Bay; grandchildren, Grant Gulseth of Coos Bay and Dana O'Mary of Eugene; great-grandchildren, Trevor Gulseth and Rio O'Mary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers.
