Welcome to the memorial page for

Marvin William Crawford

July 6, 1934 ~ March 17, 2017 (age 82) 82 Years Old

As per his wishes, no public services will be held for Marvin William Crawford, 82, of Coquille.

Marvin was born July 6, 1934 in South Sioux, Neb., to Edna May (Fender) and Leonard Crawford. He passed away March 17, 2017 at his home in Coquille.

Marvin lived in Oregon and British Columbia, Canada with his wife and children until finally making their home in Coquille. He found his love of the sand dunes while living on the Oregon coast during his young adult life. His passion for the sand dunes inspired him to build his own sand rail. His love of riding four-wheelers was passed down through his family, which eventually led him to build a “playhouse” by the sand dunes that were enjoyed by him, his children, grandchildren, and even his great-grandchildren.

Marvin was an entrepreneur from a very young age and started a local business, Exotic Burls, in Coquille. During his years of owning the business, Marvin became the third largest exporter for burls throughout Oregon. Marvin was a loving family man and would employ his children and grandchildren to keep the business in the family. He ran Exotic Burls until his retirement. After retirement, Marvin enjoyed taking family on trips in his bus conversion, which he designed.

Marvin impacted his family’s lives with his unconditional love and encouragement that will live on for generations. He is survived by many loved ones including his children, three brothers, many nieces and nephews, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by one of his sons.

Arrangements are under the care of Coos Bay Chapel, 541-267-3131.

Friends and family are encouraged to sign the online guestbook at www.coosbayareafunerals.com
