Marguerite Morris

A private family service at Catching Creek Cemetery in Myrtle Point, Oregon
will be held at a later date for Marguerite Morris, 85, who passed away on
January 1, 2017 in Coos Bay.

Marguerite was born in Myrtle Point, Oregon on July 19, 1931 to Lester Lewis Lakey and
Clarabelle Culbertson Lakey. She had a happy childhood growing up in Myrtle Point.
The summer she graduated from high school in 1949, she married her sweetheart Dale
Eugene Morris and they had 62 years together. Marguerite and Dale had three daughters.

Marguerite was a wonderful mother and homemaker. Her only brother Dean was a welcome addition to her family when he came to live with them until his marriage. Marguerite worked as a checker at the North Bend McKays Market for over twenty years until her retirement at age 62. She loved the outdoors and working in her yard. She loved her family and was known for her delicious dinners for the family every Sunday, a tradition the family will continue in her honor.

Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents Lester Lewis Lakey and Clarabelle Lakey Cole, her brother Dean Lakey, her husband Dale Morris, and her son-in-law Charles Knowlton.

Marguerite is survived by her three daughters Gail and husband Richard Schroeder, Debra and husband William Gumm, Kristie Knowlton, grandson Robert Dale Wyatt and wife Leah, 3 great grandchildren Brett Dale Wyatt, Kayla Marie Wyatt, Justin D'Acquisto, 1 great great grandchild Jaxson D'Acquisto, and step grandchildren Danny Schroeder, Benjamin Gumm, David Gumm and family,  Jeffrey Knowlton and family, Gregory Knowlton and wife Megan, and Bradley Knowlton.
