A celebration of life for Lynn Gordon DeGnath, 77, of Coos Bay will be held at 4:30 pm, Sunday, May 21 at the Hauser Community Church, 69411 Wildwood Road in North Bend, with Pastor Rob Wright, officiating.  A potluck reception will follow the service.

Lynn was born April 21, 1940 in Drain, Oregon, to Elwin and Gertrude (Powell) DeGnath. He passed away May 15, 2017 at Bay Area Hospital of pneumonia, surrounded by his loved ones.

Lynn attended Ash Valley School through the eighth grade, and graduated from Reedsport High School in 1960.

On March 24, 1968, Lynn married the love of his life, Arla Jane (Lange) DeGnath.  They celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary last March.

Lynn ran his dairy ranch for many years. He was always willing to lend a hand to neighbors who needed help.

He enjoyed playing chess with his friends and he also taught his children and grandchildren to play. He enjoyed playing his guitar and loved to make homemade fudge.

Lynn was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He devoted his life to caring for his wife.

He is survived by his wife, Arla DeGnath; two daughters, Melissa DeGnath,  Irene and husband, Erik Snuggerud; granddaughters, Heather DeGnath, Caitlin and Meredith Snuggerud; grandsons, Daniel Snuggerud and Nathaniel Robinson; four great-grandchildren, Trenton, Aleeia, Keoki and Kaiyana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwin and Gertrude.
