At her request, no services will be held for Elfrieda Katherine Elfbrandt, 80, of North Bend.  Private interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Coos Bay.

Elfrieda was born in 1937 in Riverside Calif. to John and Margaret (Mueller) Nee.  She passed away Sept. 22, 2017 in Coos Bay.

Her family moved back and forth between southern Calif. and the southern Oregon coast while she was growing up.  She graduated in 1954 from North Bend High School and went to work for Budget Finance.  Her mom later convinced her to go to work at the Emporium in North Bend.

Elfrieda married Al Elfbrandt in June of 1964 and had a son the following March.  She had stopped working when she married to concentrate on raising her family.  She was busy with Home Extension, the Hillcrest Block home program and many other things.

In 1977, she returned to the workforce as an office manager at Munnell and Sherrill.  Later she worked at St. Catherine’s and became an insurance sales person at McCabe Allstate before retiring.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Al Elfbrandt; son, Glenn and wife, Lisa and their three children, Makenzie, Matthew and Mark.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father and brother, Arnold Nee.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made to either the American Heart Association or The Alzheimer's Association.
